Thank you for coming to our wedding!
We (Mike and Carol) will be married May 11, 2024 on South Coronado Beach (where we went on our first date). We are looking forward to the day, and to celebrating with all of you. If you have questions after you read the info below, please contact either of us at any time. See you in May!

Where to stay
If you are traveling from out of town, Coronado can be a pricey place to stay. However, you will find accommodations at many price points available near Coronado. Coronado is easy to access from I-5 via the Coronado bridge. We would suggest getting a car for your stay. Many of San Diego’s great neighborhoods are only about 15 minutes away (without traffic). We are staying at an airbnb, as there 7 of us. If you need help, advice, or have questions we are happy to point to a few of our favorite neighborhoods.

On the Day
Recommended parking
There should be free parking available in street spaces in front of the Coronado Community Center (reception venue) or City Hall (next door). The address is 1845 Strand Way, Coronado, CA 92118. We suggest parking here and walking to the beach (and back) for the ceremony. It is about a 12 minute walk according to Siri. Please account for this in your timing. See below for a closer passenger drop-off point. See map and more below.

Ceremony

  • Please plan to be at the ceremony site on South Beach, Coronado at 5:30 pm.
  • The nearest street (and closest drop-off point you can drive to) is the end of Avenida Del Sol, Coronado, CA 92118. This is where the street ends in a sandy circle. Google says the address is 1800, but that seems to confuse Siri. It is a short street; just go to the end.
  • Drivers can drop guests off here, but you will likely not be able to park on this street. We suggest dropping passengers off, then parking at the community center and walking back.
  • From the end of the street walk north (with the ocean on your left) along the concrete sidewalk (AKA the Coronado Coastal Trail). NOTE: This is the pathway right by the sand, not the metal gated one leading into the Del where Google seems to point you. You’ll arrive at the wedding site (also on your left) in about 1-2 minutes. It is across from the Hotel Del Coronado cabanas (on your right).
  • The ceremony should take about 20 minutes.

Reception
A reception will follow the ceremony. It will be in the Nautilus Room at the Coronado Community Center (where you parked). Cocktail service and appetizers will start on the patio at 6:45. We will arrive close to 7:15 followed by dinner, dancing, and other activities.

Gifts
Please don’t feel a need to give us a gift beyond coming to our wedding. We know travel and lodging are expensive and time consuming. Seeing you there will be the greatest gift.

Vibe

  • This is a beach wedding. We plan to observe some traditions, but the formalities will be minimal. There will be rings, vows, cake, music, food, drink, and fun.
  • Please dress casually and relax. For example, shorts and sandals are fine (weather permitting).
  • Please have fun. There will no assigned seating at either location. If you are able, we hope you will move around, dance and meet people you don’t know.
